i, me, and myself
December 17, 2005 by estelaaque
dark clouds, rain falling, mud puddles everywhere. my mood is as drab as the weather. perhaps i’m PMS-ing. just the same, i feel quite low. i have two good books on my bed but couldn’t master the interest to read it. i was planning to do my long overdue report but unfortunately, the draft i emailed hasn’t found its way to my yahoo mailbox. so there i got another lousy excuse for postponing the task. but what’s the use since i am neither sleepy nor occupied?
then i noticed how cluttered my inbox was. most of the emails i don’t even recall the contents. and i thought perhaps deleting my emails would do me good the way burning papers and clutter makes me feel lighter.
and then i came across an old email. and then it just came to me. i miss my bestfriends. ever since i moved here, things haven’t been the same. whenever i go to manila, i try as much as i can to visit them no matter how cramped my schedule is. but nothing has been the same. i miss them a lot. spending a few hours with them, or even spending the night will never be the same as before. it’s really lonely not having them around. i’m afraid there will always be a void without them in close proximity.
what was it like back then? geez! it was among the best times of my life. this is the email i wrote to them back then. that was a happy day. thanks to them i had lots of good memories to thank for.

Hi amie! well well wag ka na mag-drama noh! it’s not as if hindi ka namin sinama sa planning :p ed planned to drop by BA to make kwento. Sayang nga eh no one had a camera that day. papadalhan ka sana namin ng blown up picture with matching autographs hehehe
So Saturday was like this…
3pm Jen and I met at farmers market. We bought crabs, shrimps, and petite magoes for dessert.
while waiting for ed, chika lang kami ni jenny sa kanyang brand new verandah! W/ pretzels and oishi to munch and ultra refreshing Zest-o Kalamansi soda! Ang saya. A very lazy and relaxing afternoon we almost fell asleep :p
5:30 we started preparing dinner. For appetizer, jen I made champignon ala jillo (jenny dear tama ba?) and Crab and Corn soup. I did buttered shrimp and steamed crabs for the main course and of course w/ rice hehehe. For dessert syempre the chilled mango-lets (mga cuties na mangoes but sobrang sulit sa tamis and laman). And of course a meal at Jenny’s wouldn’t be complete without a bottle of wine. Sobrang yummy dinner! Although after the soup, we thought we couldn’t eat anymore. But syempre we did! It was all a matter of pacing hehehe but no matter how long we lingered over dinner (an hour plus :p) we still had left-overs. Di na talaga kaya. I would have finished it off pero sabi ni ed gluttony na daw yun hehehe basta masarap lahat ng handa!!!!!
btw, we had dinner al fresco :) dun kami sa porch. Rattan furniture, candles every where, gentle breeze blowing. Mejo nasira lang yung ambiance dun sa neighbor ’s loud music.
after all plates were cleared, we had the long overdue exchange and opening of gifts. Akala ko nga wala na akong gift but no! I got one from jenny. it was a "book of love spells" o di ba winner! Just what I need to breathe life to my non-existing lovelife hehehe and ed got a book on "how to propose". Tama ba yun ed? Now I wonder, ano kaya gift ni jenny sayo?
since jen and I did the marketing and cooking, ed did the dishes (ay wait lang dears! Di ko maalala which came first? the washing or the gift-giving?) yay! Ganun ako kabusog my brains aren’t functioning well hehehe
for me it was by far the best dinner at jenny’s. I’m sure though that jenny thinks otherwise (best pa rin syempre yung may imported cook tayo hehehe).
Did I miss out anything? Hmmm basta it was one of those great and relaxed times you only get to experience when you’re with real friends… kain to the max. chika on the sides. And even comfortable silence.
Plus of course ed talked about how bobo students in C*B are hehehe. And I talked about the freak show at the bridal shower I went to hehehe at syempre napapag-usapan ang mga missing in action. ooopss! Bat ko sinabi? Pero syempre you must have bitten your tongue many times that time so pointless na magsinungaling kami ;-) we missed your company although alam namin hindi mo kami na-miss. Haaay pag-ibig!
Mwah!
gosh, oy. why does this feel oh so familiar? we really should do that Friday thing one time.:)
hey judee! we should.
